Would You Hire Yourself Today?
Let me share a moment of self-reflection. Recently, I asked myself a question that left me wrestling for an answer: Would I hire myself to lead this company?
It wasn’t a rhetorical question. I sat with it, uncomfortable, reflecting on the responsibilities of a CEO. The leader’s job, as I see it, is to create an environment where growth thrives. But not growth through chaos or hostility—growth born of challenges and an unwavering standard.
So, I took it further. I asked myself:
Am I setting a high enough standard for my team?
Am I creating opportunities for growth, or am I too focused on maintaining comfort?
Am I living up to the expectations I’d demand from someone else?
The truth is, I realized parts of my old self had to go. If I wanted to level up, I needed to fire the habits, routines, and mindsets that no longer served me. If we don’t hold ourselves accountable to the standards we set for others, we’re saying this is as good as we’ll ever be.
That’s not a future I’m willing to accept. Growth demands discomfort. It requires us to question, audit, and improve daily. It’s not about arriving at a place where everything is perfect; it’s about committing to the climb every single day.
So, let me ask you the same question: Would you hire yourself to lead your life, your goals, your dreams? If not, what parts of your old self need to go?
Lets Climb,
